About the event
Always welcomed by an enthusiastic audience, they wow a packed house with their adventurous take on some folk classics combined with their own songs, all played on array of instruments that has to be seen to be believed – including a guitar made with Mercedes hubcaps, a musical saw, a glass harp, a double bass made from a motorbike petrol tank and pretty much anything that can be rattled, shaken or whacked with a stick!
The Churchfitters are as quirky as their name (nothing to do with churches or fitting anything) but they are certainly no joke. These skilled multi-instrumentalists will entrance their audience with beautiful harmonies one moment and the next have them on their feet dancing to a foot-stomping fiddle. Brother and sister Chris and Rosie Short together with Frenchman Boris Lebret will rock the hall and – if previous performances are anything to go by – leave their audience calling for more.
